Oliver Brüstle is a physician and considered a pioneer in the field of stem cell research. Following periods of research at the University of Zurich and the US-based National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, he is now the Chair of Reconstructive Neurobiology at the University of Bonn – the first such post to be created in Germany.
Prof. Dr. Markus Nöthen, CEO:
Markus Nöthen is a human geneticist with particular expertise in the molecular analysis of multifactorial diseases. Following research activities and the completion of his specialist medical training at the University of Bonn, he was appointed Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of Antwerp. Today Markus Nöthen is Professor of Human Genetics at the University of Bonn Medical Center.
Dr. rer. nat. Per Hoffmann, Dipl. Biol., CCO:
Per Hoffmann has been with L&B since 2005 and, together with Markus Nöthen, is responsible for the development and continuous growth of the Genomics business unit. His interest in the automation of laboratory processes and diagnostic procedures has been instrumental in this development. Per Hoffmann is also head of the research infrastructure of the Institute of Human Genetics and co-founder and CCO of LampSeq Diagnostics GmbH.
Ira Herrmann, COO:
Ira Herrmann, Dipl. Biol., manages the operational business as COO. In addition, she is responsible for L&B’s patents and licenses and, together with the managing directors and senior staff of the departments, implements the strategic goals for the further development of the business areas.
