Close vicinity to the academic Medical Campus Bonn, in particular the Institute for Human Genetics, the Institute for Reconstructive Neurobiology, the Institute for Genomic Statistics and Bioinformatics and the West German Genome Center, ensures that LIFE & BRAIN always has first-hand access to the most recent advances at the cutting edge of Genomics and Cellomics. The longstanding experience and excellent scientific knowhow of our team enable us to continuously develop innovative products and services. Participation in international academic and SME-targeted research consortia ensures early identification of technology gaps and market needs as basis for our new developments.
Cellomics
The Cellomics Portfolio of LIFE & BRAIN is focused on the rapidly evolving field of iPS cell-based disease modeling and drug discovery. We continuously develop advanced cell products and customized services for CNS applications. Latest developments such as our LB:MiG microglia cells and the microglia platform PhenoMiG extend our Portfolio from neuro-intrinsic to neuroimmunological applications. Together with our partner KSILINK in Strasbourg we exploit multidimensional image- and AI-based phenotyping for screening applications.
Our R&D activities benefit from close interaction with the Institute of Reconstructive Neurobiology at the Bonn University Hospital and participation as SME partner in international research consortia.
In a time of quick comes-and-goes and overhasted catalogue launches, we take pride in offering robust quality-controlled products evolving from academic excellence and in caring about individual customers’ requirements.
Genomics
In the field of genomics, LIFE & BRAIN focuses on the further development of technologies and methods for the generation and interpretation of omics data. LIFE & BRAIN sees itself as a pacemaker in the translation of new scientific developments into a high-quality service product. Together with the Centre National de Génotypage in Paris and Erasmus University Rotterdam, we were a founding partner of the European Global Screening Array Consortium in 2016. The Seer Technology Access Centre Europe has also been based at LIFE & BRAIN since 2024.
R&D activities also include the use of omics data for the establishment of new diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in medicine: LIFE & BRAIN benefits from its proximity to the scientific working groups of the Institute of Human Genetics and other working groups at the Bonn University Hospital.
With our services, we also support numerous national and international research projects and participate as an industrial partner in European consortia such as environMENTAL and the ZukunftBIO.NRW project KIAM.
